The Oak Atelier wasn’t their original venue, but when they decided on having a more intimate ceremony, it was the perfect spot. The venue has a lovely greenhouse, where the ceremony would actually take place. Inside the greenhouse are marble floors and sheer white draperies that allow for light to bounce softly through the space. It was a bright, sunny October day, with temperatures in the 80’s which is wonderful for Houston.
Korrina & Jason opted for a first look, which allowed for a nice chunk of time to get lovely photographs of the two of them together. Shortly after their portraits, they shared their vows to each other. The vows they shared were very personal. Both Korrina and Jason were emotionally moved by each other’s words. Jason’s dad was the officiant for their wedding, which also added cool personal touches. Both families are very close and have been involved in each other’s lives since their children were very young. It was beautiful to see them come together on their wedding day!
One funny thing that happened that day: When I arrived I asked where Jason was getting ready, I didn’t know that the groom’s dad was also named Jason. The groom’s dad said “um, I’m Jason.” I was so confused! It was later explained to me that they call the groom Caleb and the groom’s father Jason. It was comical because I was genuinely so thrown off for a moment.
