A SCOTLAND WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER
I'm Christina
Amber and James had originally planned their wedding for February 2021, but when James was accepted into the Navy, they decided to move it up. The September day started out clear but after the ceremony and a few outdoor pictures, a tropical depression made landfall and it began to rain. It was a day to remember for all!
Amber and James got ready in the bridal and groom suites on the property of The Weinberg at Wixon Valley. With chandeliers throughout the venue, there were plenty of opportunities for glamorous shots!
Amber looked absolutely stunning in her sleeveless lace gown. Her makeup and hair, by Naturally Flawless Beauty, looked absolutely radiant while her bouquet of red and blush roses by Willow Lane was whimsical.
Amber and her mom shared a hug after zipping her into her dress. And then she had a “first look” with her dad which brought tears to both their eyes. And of course her bridesmaids were excited to see Amber make her appearance in her gown! They all looked beautiful in their full length, empire-waist red dresses.
Meanwhile, James donned his classic three-piece gray suit, and a red rose boutonniere secured to his lapel. With his matching red tie, he looked so dapper – like a model for GQ Magazine!
It was still blue skies for the ceremony, which took place outside under an awning of rich greens adorned with red and white roses. James was very emotional when he saw Amber walk down the aisle with her dad. It was a sweet moment to witness the love he has for his bride.
With their “I Dos” said, the wedding party posed for a few pictures before Amber and James had a private moment, their first as a married couple!
I just loved that they wanted a shot with James’ motorcycle! It made for a unique wedding memory.
Inside the venue, large chandeliers hung from the ceiling, providing the most romantic lighting for the reception, as the skies grew darker outside with the storm. White table cloths, gold charger plates and red napkins added to the luxe feel of the room. Banquet tables featured runners of fresh greens and roses, while more traditional arrangements provided the centerpiece for round tables. And in front of the sweetheart table sat a “Mr. & Mrs.” sign.
After sharing their first dance as husband and wife, the bride and groom cut their four tier wedding cake, covered in red and white roses and a “Mr. & Mrs. Kimberly cake topper. Amber took a twirl around the dance floor with her dad, and then the rest of the guests joined in for some line dancing.
To end their perfect day, they made their exit, surrounded by family and friends holding sparklers that lit up the stormy night sky.
