Haak Winery Wedding

With their 7 children in tow, Abbie and Todd said I do at Haak Winery in Santa Fe, TX. Their ceremony took place at the large oak tree in the back of the property. With thunderstorms rolling through on and off during the day, the big question was whether or not the outdoor ceremony would even be an option. Luckily, the clouds cleared 5 minutes prior to the ceremony and held off long enough to get Abbie and Todd married. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, so if that holds true they received tons of luck. 
The couples children made up their wedding party with Abbie’s son escorting her down the aisle. It was such a sweet moment! The groom even shed a tear when he saw his beautiful bride. Abbie is a showstopper, so that is no surprise there. Their ceremony was short and sweet, which was a blessing because we were met with rain yet again. So now they really have luck on their side. 
After we wrapped up family portraits, we headed out into the vineyard for the couples portraits. The rain was still sprinkling down on us, but we decided to stick it out and create some magic. Todd and Abbie have such a playful energy that makes photographing them so easy. They danced, ran, kissed, kissed a little more, and topped it off with more sweet kisses prior to heading into the reception. 
Their guests, especially the kiddos, had a great time shuffling around the dance floor all night. Abbie’s girls really stole the show with all of their moves. I loved that it was Abbie & Todd’s wedding, but they always kept the focus on their newly formed family. So much so that they even brought a birthday cake for Todd’s daughter Ruth’s birthday. Everyone sang her happy birthday and then danced with the birthday girl. It was such a fun night!
I know I always say this, but it truly is such an honor and a blessing to be included in a couple’s wedding. From seeing two young college kids start their new lives together to two people with 7 kids coming together and forging their families; it is always special.
